The situation

Cambridge Mobile Telematics’ (CMT) mission is to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. Since its first product launch in 2012 that pioneered mobile usage-based insurance, CMT has become the world’s leading telematics and analytics provider for insurers, ride shares, and fleets. Tank was tasked with updating CMT’s web experience to showcase CMT as the innovative leader in the telematics industry. Through a design solution that focused on a heavy usage of custom imagery, motion graphics, and video, Tank created a visually impactful experience that positioned CMT as world class – both in terms of their brand and their technology. As part of this project work, Tank also created a new visual identity for the brand that could be used for the website as well as across other marketing channels.

Experience design

CMT set an ambitious timeline for launching their new website. Tank acted efficiently, working in parallel to craft wireframes, visual designs and content. The result is a website that is clear and engaging and accomplishes the storytelling the CMT team envisioned from the start.

Mobile telematics are a relatively new technology. So it is easier to show than tell how it works. We wrote scripts, drafted storyboards, helped select voice actors and animated multiple videos highlighting different product features that portray how CMT creates better drivers and safer roads for all of us.
