And in many ways it was. Blurred lines between hope and fear, between “the end is in sight” and “will this ever end?”</p>\n<p>Despite the enduring stress and anxiety of a global pandemic that’s putting up a really good fight, 2021 had many endearing traits. We managed to vaccinate half of the entire human race. We’re <a href=\"https://abcnews.go.com/Health/research-shows-promising-development-hunt-hiv-vaccine/story?id=76904202\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-gc-link=\"https://abcnews.go.com/Health/research-shows-promising-development-hunt-hiv-vaccine/story?id=76904202\">making progress in the fight against AIDS</a>. We took our <a href=\"https://www.businessinsider.com/united-operates-passenger-flight-with-100-sustainable-aviation-fuel-2021-12?r=US&amp;IR=T\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-gc-link=\"https://www.businessinsider.com/united-operates-passenger-flight-with-100-sustainable-aviation-fuel-2021-12?r=US&amp;IR=T\">first flight on sustainable fuel</a>. The Oscars saw its <a href=\"https://variety.com/2021/film/news/oscars-diversity-steven-yeun-riz-ahmed-1234928862/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-gc-link=\"https://variety.com/2021/film/news/oscars-diversity-steven-yeun-riz-ahmed-1234928862/\">most diverse year ever</a>.</p>\n<p>Some of us got back to offices, movie theaters and even saw some live music. Here at Tank, we moved to a cool new East Coast office, hired seven amazing new Tankers, did some brave new work with our amazing clients and started exciting relationships with many new ones.</p>\n<p>So, although we’re far from out of the woods, 2021 was not a year without progress, and for that we’re grateful. Here’s to more progress, joy and goodwill in 2022.</p>\n<p>This year in lieu of physical gifts, we will again be making a donation to our local food banks in Boston and San Francisco. Their fight to end food insecurity is far from over.
